WORK WITH ME
I am always looking for new opportunities to collaborate so please do get in touch if you would like to talk further.
My role as a producer is to be the person that you turn to, to make things happen - whether it’s a piece of work, funding strategy, tour, event, business plan, or a friendly face that's needed.
I can be there to guide, support and pratically enable your ambition.
Every artist, organisation or project requires a tailored and bespoke set of skills and approach. In order to give a sense of the kind of producer I am, I have outlined the skills I can bring below...
Whether it's talking through an idea out loud for the first time, or testing something out in a rehearsal room, I can offer bespoke producer support during an artwork or project's conception involving critical feedback and practical and logistical advice.
"I trust Emily completely, I explore and share ideas with Emily in early stages because I know she will encourage and support and look for opportunities to nurture the ideas to develop and grow. Emily is part of my imaginary ‘dream team’!" - Anne-Marie Culhane, eco-artist, educator & activist
"Emily wears her considerable experience and insight lightly, and is a natural at creating a collaborative and open space to dig into your creative and practical issues together". Simon Day, The Plasticine Men
Since 2010 I have been committed to finding new ways to support the development of emerging and established producers. You can read more about this here.

Budget setting/designing - projecting and forecasting
Financial reporting to funders/partners/stakeholders/Board members
I have experience seeking out and implementing effective communication networks within organisations as well as looking at processes and systems for efficient delivery of projects that support the capacity available.
I can support companies or individuals to set goals and look at what steps to take in order to achieve growth/ambition etc. I have a good understanding of governance and the benefits and challenges to different company set ups.
"Emily has a talent for listening to and observing what people and organisations need, and developing thoughtful and considered strategic approaches and solutions in response." - Danielle Rose, Independent Producer
"Emily takes the time to listen to your ideas and aspirations always with enthusiasm and kindness. Her insightful knowledge of the creative industries is invaluable. She helped us understand the local theatre landscape and how to grow as a company. Emily is that creative person that we know, as individuals and as a company, we can always turn to for honest, sensitive, quality advice". - Katy Dash, PaddleBoat Theatre CIC
I can offer mentoring to emerging theatre and dance companies and emerging producers. This could be face to face or via skype initially and then if continued, email and phone contact is also possible. Please see Producing Surgeries for more information (currently under development).
"As a mentor, Emily made the space for us to explore some challenging aspects of our organisation, and ask exciting questions which helped us to focus and find new pathways. Our sessions felt beautifully tailored, but we didn't feel at all pushed in any directions. The agenda was always ours, and Emily helped us create shared goals to keep sessions on track. We felt supported and we felt like we were being taken seriously which, in turn, allowed us to take ourselves and our organisation seriously. The basis for communication and the gentle 'house rules' that Emily encouraged us to create right back at the start are still with us today, which is a pretty good indicator of their value!" - Katie Villa, Co Artistic Director, Theatre Rush.
TEA DRINKING PARTNER
Sometimes what you really need is to have a cup of tea and a good old natter - I am always keen to meet new people, and build on the relationships I already have, so if you fancy a cuppa let me know.
"Emily is a supportive, caring and brilliant producer". - Rachael Burton, Network Producer, Watershed.
